Huh?

Looks like they said, "we like that design... can you do it like that but put our name there?".... and the designer did, he actually copied it, and put their name there, but not there.

France is closed today

Some people at my company like to be a little simplistic with their announcements:

I can't help picturing something like this.

KFP or not?

My wife spotted this in one of her Pesach cookery books:

Seder preparations await my attention. Chag Sameach!

Good for wife...

My wife and I went to stay in Yerushalayim for Shabbos Hagodol. On Shabbos afternoon we walked down to the Kosel for mincha, and on the way we walked through the arab shuk.

We're walking down the road past all the stores and we approach what was probably a leather-goods store. I don't really remember. There's a guy standing at the entrance holding a belt folded in two. As we come within range he slaps in a couple of times in his palm and calls out to me (in English, he must have heard us), "Good for wife!". I chuckle and smile at my wife, and as we're passing he calls out, "Good for husband!" which just makes us crack up. I reckon he was smiling too.

From the way we looked it would have been obvious to him that we weren't going to buy anything so it wasn't an attempt to get us into the store. He was just taking the opportunity to amuse us and himself. May all our interactions with our cousins over there be of that nature.

Chag Kasher veSameach

It's been a while since I posted.

I just popped in here to add a couple of little posts before Pesach.

I'd like to wish my handful of readers a chag kasher vesameach.

Seeking...

I'm trying to cut down on my frustrated/critical tone a little... so I'll put it this way: It looks like someone translated this ad from Hebrew. I don't think they meant it to come out quite how it came out.

Taken as is, it seems like my friend's almost-3-year-old would be just about qualified for this job!

What's wrong with this question?

This was posted to one of the R/BS lists:
What stop do I get off the train to get to the embassy in Tel Aviv?
Thank you,
Ignoring any potential grammar issues, what's wrong with that question?

What's wrong with it is similar to what's wrong with the following question:
Where was my cousin this morning?
The funny thing is that the person who asked the above question probably got the correct answer without either the asker or the answerer realising that the question wasn't definitive in the first place.

Grrrrr.

At long last here are the photos

Back in May I wrote about our snake experience. I said I'd post the photos. So - at long last, for the benefit of any of you who are interested, here they are:

Finally trapped on the floor:

Meir got hold of him. It gave me chills getting this close to take the photo:

Ready to go...
